What We Believe

What We Believe

At Saint Julian Catholic Church, we embrace the core beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church, rooted in the teachings of Scripture, tradition, and the Magisterium:

The Triune God:

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are co-equal and co-eternal, the source of all creation and love.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God:

  • We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who lived, suffered, died, and rose from the dead to redeem humanity and reconcile us with God.

The Holy Spirit:

  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who sanctifies, empowers, and guides the Church, dwelling within believers and bestowing spiritual gifts.

The Scriptures and Tradition:

  • We believe in the sacredness and authority of both Scripture and Tradition, guided and interpreted by the Magisterium (teaching authority) of the Church, providing the foundation of our faith and morals.

The Church:

  • We believe in the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, founded by Jesus Christ, entrusted with the mission to proclaim the Gospel, administer the sacraments, and serve humanity.

The Sacraments:

  • We believe in the seven sacraments instituted by Christ, which convey God's grace: Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony.

The Eucharist:

  • We believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, where bread and wine become His body and blood, offering spiritual nourishment and communion with Christ.

Mary and the Saints:

  • We honor Mary, the Mother of God, as a model of faith and devotion. We venerate the saints as exemplars of Christian life and seek their intercession.

Life, Dignity, and Social Justice:

  • We uphold the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, promoting social justice, human dignity, and caring for the marginalized and vulnerable.

Moral Teachings:

  • We embrace the moral teachings of the Church, guided by the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes, striving for moral integrity and ethical living.

Eternal Life:

  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the promise of eternal life with God for those who follow Christ, where they will experience everlasting joy and fulfillment.

At Saint Julian Catholic Church, these beliefs guide our worship, inform our actions, and inspire us to live as disciples of Christ, sharing His love and compassion with the world.
